In 1864 the Invercauld was shipwrecked on the remote Auckland Islands, 20 survived, 17 perished before their rescue a year later. The author’s relative was one of the lucky one’s to be rescued. This is the book on her pilgrimage, from Scotland to the Auckland Island’s to recount the Invercauld’s story.
